The area contains many lively bars, and has many excellent (and cheap) Chinese, thai, Vietnamese and couscous restaurants. It is close to a famous small square called Place St Marthe, which hosts artists studios as well as some small, cosy restaurants and bars. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the canal st-martin.
